I refrain from joining the following Jams:
* Any Jam with a woke ideology, because while the irony is that they claim to be "the most inclusive" people to have ever existed, in reality they exclude a fast majority of the human population, because they won't view the world through the woke's extremely narrow lens. This is not being inclusive, and mental illnesses should be treated with proper health care, not with political propaganda!
* Any Jams that don't allow "hateful content", unless clearly specified what is understood under "hateful content". In Western populations specifically, the definition of "hateful content" tends to change every 2 minutes, and on top of that the definition greatly differs from person to person too. So if "hateful content" is not allowed, please specify concretely what falls under it, and stick to it until at least the end of the Jam.
* Any Jams that are political. This includes LGBT or MAGA, Climatism or Qanon, Democrat or Republican, Transsexualism or Conservatism, Veganism or Christianity, Communism or Capitalism, Pro-Vax vs Anti-Vax, and more. My intention of joining a Jam is to have fun developing a game, not to get miserable from debates. Edgy meme-themed Jams are OK, as long as they're not political.
Jams I love to join:
* Jams that do not restrict on tools or operating systems, because I use OpenBSD by the way.
* Jams that encourage a certain retro graphical style (NES/FC, SNES/SFC, N64).
* Jams that don't take too long to complete, because I do all these jams at the same time as I work on my main game project, which I work on outside of my day job.
* Jams that encourage meritocracy, these tend to be the most challenging and fun.
* Jams that allow me to own my own code by default, this should be a nobrainer.
* (Optional) Jams that have a monetary incentive, it's always nice to be rewarded for the hard work you do beside what you already do beside your day job.
* Jams that are lax on NSFW content, because NSFW content tend to bring lots of uniqueness to the table that can't be achieved if it's banned.
* Jams that incentivise games that are very difficult to complete, I always find those games the most fun to make.
